Brunel Way pump track, Bristol

In 2008 Bristol was picked as the first Cycling City in England - a title that earnt the council £11m of funding from the Department of Transport. On the face of it Cambridge or Oxford might have been a more obvious choice, two cities where cycling is very much a major transport option. But Bristol has a lot more to offer cyclists who ride bikes for the love of riding. As a rider I wanted to document the various groups of riders that makes up Bristol's bike scene, so I started at the closest place I could - the new pump track in Cumberland Basin.

These shots are from my first evening at the track.
