It’s back. Jumpers for goalposts. Three goals and in. World Cup doubles. Range Rover Sports. We didn’t have much of the last one but I always remember spending most of the summer holidays waiting for the football season to start again. We had cricket to occupy us until it did.
I haven’t shot a huge amount of football over the years (despite regularly living within walking distance of Bristol City or Bristol Rovers). I did cover Ryan Giggs’ last ever game for Wales though, so that’s a tick. I’ve always really liked this shot though, taken in 2007 when Bristol City played Sheffield United at Ashton Gate. What makes it is the United supporter right in the middle of the frame and how he’s surrounded by disappointed City players.
