My finger is on the pulse of breaking news and utilising the internet to full effect. With that in mind here’s my brief (I was only there for two days) round up of this year’s Glastonbury Festival (some nine days after the event). This was the first year that I was hit in the face with a snowball (thanks to the Greenpeace fake snow snowball fight) and, to better that, a tomato during a mass food fight. The fact that I survived the sock wrestling without further injury is a miracle.
Typical scene you’ll encounter as a photographer when you’re running late to get to a small side stage.
Deap Vally, who I shot recently for Total Guitar and Rhythm. They drew a big crowd and their sound worked so much better on a large stage. Impressive stuff.
Rita Ora did this a lot. Not really sure why.
Sock wrestling! The battle fought between kings! I hadn’t seen tag team sock wrestling before. It was pretty full on.
Jim Fox, compere and organiser of the John Peel stage, celebrated his 60th birthday over the weekend. All the crew came on stage to sing to him.
The tomato food fight seemed like a really good idea. I’m still finding tomato seeds in my kit…
The guy running a camera obscura kept telling me I needed to have a look. I did, it was cool.
