I spent the day in London a few weeks ago photographing Jimi Hendrix’s Fender Stratocaster for Guitarist magazine. The guitar was heading straight to the V&A after the shoot for an upcoming exhibition.
This opening shot was taken at the end of the day when the sun had come around to backlight the scene. Four Profoto Acute B2 packs were used to fill around the natural light – two for the body of the guitar and two to fill in the shadows from the right. All shot with standard reflectors and various grids.
