I’ve updated my music photography portfolio and it now includes this portrait of Steve Howe, guitarist from Asia and Yes, shot at his home studio for Guitarist magazine. Lighting after the break!

Three lights and the natural ambient from the window. There’s one light with a standard reflector bounced off the ceiling at the back of the room for a general fill, one in an umbrella softbox camera left for the main light and the third light is gridded camera right to add a nice edge light on Steve’s left side.
